Prototype Review

okay, so as you all probably know i picked up prototype...

then the next day, got rid of it...my answer is, yes its good, but its also terrible lol
in this short review, ill be explaining why....

well to began, your name is alex mercer...an ordinary guy (or so called) who died and has been genetically modified and been brought back to life, only having his name "prototype no.1", now this being a game, its not that simple lol, he destroys the place and then leaves, in search for who he is, finding out his name is alex mercer....

obviously your main aim is to find out whats happened to you and who you are, quite an obvious and easy written storyline, you go through the game in missions searching for certain people and killing them absorbing there DNA, which coincidently contains there memorys and thoughts...which to most people you will probably be think that it makes no sence haha
anyway, moving on, the gameplay controls are reletively straight forward, typical 3rd person game controls, but this game has something called locomotive controlling, which basically means holding RT and pointing in the direction you wish to go, makes it easy for you as the "locomotive controlling" does all the dodging and climbing for you, its easy right ?

the combat, well thats straight forward too, the typical X and Y buttons do the kicks and punches, A is jump RB is to change your style of weapon, from claws to blades...

replayability...thats another story, it doesnt really feel like there is any, even though you can just run about and piss about if you want to, completely ignoring the main tasks at hand, i even went on a rampage against the army, trying to destroy as many as i could, though when you kill around 20 of them, be them civilians or army people, a helicopter comes and tanks, though they are easy anyway...

i suppose it depends what your into game wise, this game can be done in a rental if you focus on the main stream storyline, but if you dont it can last you ages...

overall though, if i had to suggest this to someone, id suggest just renting it, its like marmite, something some people like every now and again, or something people hate...
but, my overall view on this game is....

6/10

reason being, the game feels much too short for me personally, the gameplay is good, the fighting styles are cool, but thats about it, thats all the game has...thats why it doesnt get like a 9 or 10...its just much too short, and with the fact that you can do it in a rental that just knocked it even more...

do not buy this game, rent it!, much easier lol
